Recruiting process




Our interview process is very transparent. We arrange multiple case interviews so that several people from our firm can get to know you. Most of us completed four to six case interviews before joining BCG. If you want to practice for the case interviews, visit the interactive case on our global web site, and review interview tips.

The process is described below.

  • Application screening: all applications received are recorded in our database, and reviewed by the Greater China Recruiting Committee
  • Invitation to interview: applicants who get through the screening process are invited to First round interviews

First round interviews: case interviews

  • Two first round interviews are conducted, each lasting 45 minutes
  • Each interview is in a 'case study' format, and one may be conducted purely in Mandarin
  • The case interview mimics the real life of a consultant, so there is no unique solution or standard path to a conclusion. Your creativity and business judgment is meant to make the difference

Second round interviews: case interviews

  • Second round interviews consist of another two 45-minute 'case study' interviews

Third round interviews: decision round

  • In the third round interviews, applicants meet the Recruiting Partner and/or other Partner(s) and Managing Director(s)
  • These interviews, which are also in 'case study' format, test applicants' overall skill.
