The Shanghai office





BCG's Shanghai office is the hub for our activities in China. In 1993, BCG became the first multinational consulting firm authorized to conduct business in China through a joint venture in Shanghai. Later, BCG changed the status of the office to a 'wholly owned foreign entity' so that it could be fully integrated with our global network and to enable greater operational latitude throughout China. Many of our consultants have worked or studied internationally.

More than 90 percent are PRC natives. Nearly all speak fluent Mandarin and English, and most expatriate staff have lived in China for many years.

Our Shanghai office is located in the heart of Shanghai next to the People's Park, the world-class Shanghai Museum, and the striking Shanghai Grand Theatre. Our central location makes it easy to reach most places in the city, whether for business or an evening out on the town. Shanghai is an exciting place to begin a consulting career in Asia. China is one of the world's fastest growing economies and Shanghai is increasingly the doorway to rapidly evolving new markets.
