I joined BCG Shanghai Office in the new millennium, after I finished my MBA at INSEAD. Having spent a wonderful year in France with my wife, I was looking for a career that would give me exposure to great minds and the opportunity to work with fun people.

Choosing BCG from the other major consulting firms was not a difficult decision, and my experience so far has confirmed my initial impressions. The people at BCG consistently impress me with their creativity, initiative, and friendliness.

Consulting at BCG can be lots of fun. In one project for a cosmetics client, I worked on an all-male BCG team! This gave us the opportunity for plenty of in-jokes about 'deciphering the female psyche from a male perspective.' Consulting work can also be very challenging. In another project, the BCG team helped two pharmaceutical multinationals to merge their China businesses in the middle of an epidemic disease (SARS) catastrophe. Believe it or not, we managed to work from home to merge the two giant companies!

In my leisure time, I like reading, hiking, and movies. I also enjoy shopping with my wife, but I'm only interested in the cosmetics floor of any shopping mall. That's a byproduct of being a consultant. I just can't help paying attention to the recent development of those brands!
