Like many final year students, when I was job hunting I hoped to find somewhere that would give me opportunities for variety, continuous challenges, and the chance to work with brilliant and nice people. I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I joined BCG’s Hong Kong office after graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. So far, the experience has been extremely rewarding – like the “Kinder Surprise Egg”, BCG has fulfilled my three wishes as a job hunter. At BCG, I am exposed to a range of industries. I could be developing an Asia growth strategy for a bank this month; and two months later, I could be working for a charity to design its fund raising strategy in Hong Kong. The learning curve is always steep as I have to get to know each industry in a short period of time. Fortunately, BCGers are always willing to share their knowledge and experience – not only colleagues from the same office but also colleagues from around BCG’s global network. Looking back, I have learnt a lot from the brilliant people around me. Outside work, I like hiking and traveling. Both keep me energetic and give me opportunities to explore and learn more. Every time I visit a new place, I learn something new. I also love spending a relaxing afternoon at a cafe, just having coffee, reading or chatting with friends. |
