After six years working in a B2B industrial company and then studying for my MBA at INSEAD, I was eager to change my career path. Opportunities to be exposed to broad range of industries and business management issues made consulting my number one choice. After living in Europe for seven years, I was also very keen to return to China to be part of the history-making economic and social development taking place here. BCG was a logical choice, supported by the firm’s very efficient and friendly on-campus recruiting process. Almost three years on, I am still very excited about joining BCG and the work we do in Greater China. Exactly as I had hoped, I have been involved in a wide variety of interesting projects, where my experience has ranged from examining dusty cement factories as part of the post merger integration of two construction materials manufacturers, to hanging out with contemporary artists to learn how to set up an art museum in Beijing. Although life can be hectic at times, the diversity in my work and my strong sense of learning and achieving at a very fast pace mean I thoroughly enjoy my job. This enjoyment is further enriched by working with a group of very bright and highly committed people who have consistently supported me in some very challenging situations. Outside of work, I am fond of a number of sports, but have spent most of my spare time recently playing with my one-year-old son. |
